Find a support group across Australia (EnableMe website)

You can search for a support group on the EnableMe website

Use the search tool to:

  • filter by location and region,
  • find groups for younger people,
  • find groups for people with aphasia.

The directory is regularly updated, but it is a good idea to reach out to the group contact to double check details before you go!

If you need help searching for a group, call StrokeLine.

You can also try:

  • asking your doctor about groups in your area,
  • finding groups through a local community health centre or neighbourhood house.

Can’t find a group near you?

Most peer support groups are started by survivors of stroke, their family members and carers. Many were inspired to start a group because they couldn’t find one in their area. It’s a big job, but we hear it’s also a rewarding one.

StrokeLine can provide advice on setting up a peer support group.
