Calling StrokeLine and speaking to those clinicians and those professions.

When we were looking for help and support that may be our GP didn’t have that specialist access or knowledge about, particularly neurofatigue.

So finding those specialists, whether that was a neuropsychologist or a sleep clinic or, you know, a mental health service provider, who could talk to young people and would understand what stroke and those challenges would look like.

So those connections, I think, from everybody, whether they were a health professional, a researcher, a person with lived experience, a family member and a friend or an employer.

I think there are definitely nuggets of gold, as I’ve heard people call this within the community, that you take away and then you use that and their words and their explanations to explain it in your world, in your life.

And it’s certainly helped me be able to explain to others what young stroke has looked like for our 19 year old daughter.
